You often hear me boast that Orlando is a city for everyone – a diverse, inclusive and welcoming place.
This past weekend, it was clear that our community truly is compassionate. On Saturday morning, we held our 17th annual City of Orlando Veterans Day Parade in Downtown Orlando to honor the men and women who sacrificed so much to protect our freedom.
Then, just hours later, thousands lined the streets of Downtown for what has to be the largest Come Out With Pride Parade that we’ve ever had.
Exactly five months after the Pulse tragedy, the Pride parade showed our community’s unity as people from all walks of life celebrated that we’re Orlando United.
And both events were shining examples that we are a city for everyone.
