As you spend time with family and friends this holiday season, our City sewer systems probably aren’t on your mind. That’s understandable, but we do want you to think about keeping cooking oil and grease out of the drain when you’re in the kitchen.
Pouring oil and grease down the drain is the leading cause of sewer backups, which can lead to the contamination of our many lakes. You can help grease fighter by saving your used cooking oil in a shatterproof container and then bringing it one of our community centers to be recycled.
