It has now been half a year since the darkest day in our city’s history. In the six months since the tragedy at Pulse, Orlando has come together to provide support to the survivors, the families of the 49 victims and everyone in our community. Residents from all walks of life helped, cared for and loved one another when our community needed it most.
Orlando truly is a compassionate city. We are also a diverse and inclusive city, and through our actions, we are honoring those we lost at Pulse.
For those directly impacted by the tragedy, we are still here to provide support. We’re continuing our partnership with Orange County Government and Heart of Florida United Way to operate the Orlando United Assistance Center. Through the assistance center, we are here to serve as a navigation point to provide information, resources and help.
As we continue to work through the delicate process of moving forward, I know that we will continue to show the world that Orlando is even stronger and more united than ever before.
