Kick Off the Holiday Season at the 8th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer invites Central Florida residents and visitors to kick off the holiday season at the annual Downtown for the Holidays Tree Lighting Celebration.
The highlight of this free event is the lighting of the City’s 72-foot Christmas tree. Attendees will help countdown to the lighting of the tree’s 88,000 animated lights and a 15-minute Eola Wonderland Christmas tree show where the tree will come alive to a synchronized light and music show with Lake Eola fountain.
Entertainment will include holiday performances from the Trinity Lutheran School Christmas musical, Encore! Cast Performing Arts which will include more than 100 Disney Cast members and their families and Violectric an electric orchestra playing holiday favorites.
The event will also feature festival vendors and TheDailyCity.com Food Truck Bazaar offering food and drinks for purchase.
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, which helps more than 3,500 underprivileged children, will be accepting monetary donations during the event.
IDignity will also be in attendance to provide information on how the community can assist in the efforts to help disadvantaged residents obtain personal identification.

Parking is available for a fee at all Downtown Orlando parking garages, lots and Smart Meters.
The free LYMMO Circulator is recommended for Downtown residents and attendees parking at garages other than the Library Garage (112 East Central Boulevard).
