Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to Deliver 2016 State of Downtown Address at Bob Carr Theater
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will deliver his annual State of Downtown Address on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Bob Carr Theater, located in the heart of Downtown Orlando’s Creative Village.
Mayor Dyer will share the latest on the continued revitalization of Downtown Orlando, as well as plans and advancements for the community in education, strengthening neighborhoods, enhancing quality of life and furthering opportunity.
New this year, Mayor Dyer’s annual address will feature a panel of individuals who together with the City are helping to shape the future of Parramore and Downtown Orlando. Panelists will include:
- Dr. Shanta Barton-Stubbs, Founder & Director of New Image Youth Center
- Suneera Madhani, CEO and Founder of fattmerchant
- Dr. Falicia Williams, President of Valencia College’s West Campus
- Bakari F. Burns, President and Chief Executive Officer, Health Care Center for the Homeless
- Gene Zimmerman, Hospitality Entrepreneur

Media parking will be available in Lot 5 Blue.
The recommended route to access the lot is to take Amelia Street west over Hughey Avenue, left (south) onto Ron Blocker Avenue, left (east) onto Alexander Place and right (south) into Lot 5 Blue.
Media should enter the Bob Carr Theater at the west entrance near the Drop Off in Lot 5 Blue.

A tradition since 1982, the State of Downtown Address is a fundraising event for the Downtown Orlando Partnership (DOP).
Cost is $45 for DOP members and $60 for nonmembers.
