Ring in the Holidays with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer at the City of Orlando’s Tenth Annual Tree Lighting Celebration
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer invites Central Florida residents and visitors to ring in the holiday season at the City of Orlando’s annual Tree Lighting Celebration.
The highlight of this free event is the lighting of the City’s 72-foot Christmas tree at Lake Eola Park’s Washington Plaza. Attendees will help countdown to the lighting of the tree’s 160,000 animated LED lights and the 15-minute Eola Wonderland Christmas tree show where the tree will come alive to a synchronized light-and-music show with the Lake Eola fountain.
Entertainment will include holiday performances at the Walt Disney Amphitheater from the Trinity Lutheran School Choir and The Crew.
The event will also feature food trucks and a holiday market offering gifts, food and drinks for purchase, as well as the opportunity to meet Santa until 9 p.m. at the Eola House.
The Salvation Army will be at the event with their classic red kettles collecting monetary donations, as well as conducting a text-to-give campaign. Donations will supply toys for children in need this holiday season.
