The City of Orlando has participated in the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program (CAFR Program) since 1978 and has been awarded their Certificate of Achievement each and every year.
In order to receive this award, which is only valid for a period of one year, a governmental unit must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), the contents of which conform to program standards. Such reports must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements.
