The GreenUp Orlando program was created in 1985 to increase the City’s available tree canopy and to improve the appearance of our community. The program is designed to stimulate improvements to public places in neighborhoods through volunteer efforts and contributions.
GreenUp Orlando encourages citizens and groups to plant trees and shrubs, beautify their neighborhoods, raise public awareness and pride in Orlando, “The City Beautiful,” and promote the benefits of volunteer efforts in partnership with the City.
Corporations, civic organizations, schools, faith based organizations, scout troops, neighborhood associations and families are encouraged to participate in Orlando’s favorite “green” volunteer program! To schedule a project for your organization or in your neighborhood please call the GreenUp Manager at 407.246.3504 or email email@example.com.
Through GreenUp the Parks Division uses volunteers to:
- Beautify neighborhoods, schools and other public areas through GreenUp design and plantings.
- Educate school kids on the importance of caring for their facilities through their own volunteer efforts.
- Work with neighbors and volunteer groups to enhance various parks throughout the City.
- Assist in other areas of park operations.
Volunteers help the Park’s Division provide the highest level of service with the most efficient use of the citizen tax dollars. In addition, this allows our citizens, local school children, scout troops and corporations to work together and build strong comradeships.
