Notice: Due to the conversion and migration of the City’s licensing and permitting software platform to a new system, some Business Tax Receipt invoices dated prior to July 1, 2017, may contain errors in name, address or other details. If upon review, you believe your invoice contains any errors, please contact businesstax@cityoforlando.net or 407.246.2204 to have your invoice corrected.
Business Tax Receipt (BTR) (formerly known as Occupational License)

Are you opening a new business in the City of Orlando or are you moving your existing business into City limits? The City of Orlando issues licenses to those businesses, professions or occupations that have locations or branch offices within our City limits. The Business Tax Receipt is proof of payment of the business tax. It is required before a business opens.

The City of Orlando launched a Digital Small Business Permitting website to help guide you through the process and determine all fees and permits needed to open your business. Please click here to open a business in the City of Orlando.

If you have questions regarding the BTR process, please contact us at 407.246.2204 or email BusinessTax@cityoforlando.net.
