Business Tax Receipt (BTR) (formerly known as Occupational License)
Are you opening a new business in the City of Orlando or are you moving your existing business into City limits? The City of Orlando issues licenses to those businesses, professions or occupations that have locations or branch offices within our City limits. The Business Tax Receipt is proof of payment of the business tax. It is required before a business opens.
The City of Orlando launched a Digital Small Business Permitting website to help guide you through the process and determine all fees and permits needed to open your business. Please click here to open a business in the City of Orlando.

- The application will be reviewed, upon approval and payment, your Business Tax Receipt will be mailed to you. Those submitting applications in person will be issued the Business Tax Receipt at the time of payment. Please make checks payable to City Of Orlando.
