City
of Orlando Bicycle Plan
Development
and achievement of this long-range bicycle plan
earned the City of Orlando recognition as a “Bicycle Friendly
Community".
Bikeway
Projects
Numerous
bikeway
projects have been completed throughout the city while
several others are currently underway.
Bikeways
Today
A federally
funded test project to increase cyclist safety through pavement
signals can now be used by cyclists at 50 different intersections
throughout the City. A "stencil" of a cyclist on the
pavement triggers the traffic signal light to change when a bike is
on the stencil.
The City of Orlando has more
than 250 miles of bikeways. Mayor Dyer encourages everyone to explore a
healthier and less expensive way to commute.
Bicycle Parking
Parking
for bicycles is provided at a number of locations in Downtown
Orlando. View a map of the locations in pdf format by clicking
