MPB Application Procedures

Pre-application
meeting
with
staff.

Submittal
of application
to
City Planning, 6th floor of City Hall.

Staff prepares a
draft
staff report and sends it to the applicant. The report contains
analysis and any conditions that staff has placed on its
recommendation.

Technical
Review Committee
(TRC). This is a meeting of staff from the City and outside
agencies who reviewed the project. It gives the applicant an
opportunity to discuss the conditions placed on the project. The
TRC makes a recommendation to the MPB.

Staff prepares the
final
staff report, sends it to the applicant, and places it
online.

MPB
meeting (3rd
Tuesday of each month). This is a public hearing. The MPB makes
a recommendation to City Council.

City
Council
reviews the MPB meeting minutes.

deadlines and dates for the steps above.
Note:
Master Plans and Conditional Use Permits take effect upon City
Council approval of MPB minutes; all other requests are not
effective until City Council conducts two readings of an ordinance.
Subdivision applications follow steps 1-4, and then require City
Council approval of the plat.
BZA Application Procedures

Note:
Variances are effective upon City Council approval of BZA minutes;
an application for building permit may be filed after City Council
approval of the variance.
