Shores Community Planning Day
Commissioner Ings and staff from various City departments
conducted a Community Planning day to envision the
future of Washington Shores, in order to make this
neighborhood one of the best on the west side of the City.

SoDo Development receives "Better Community
Award"

Friends’ Better Community Award is presented annually for
plans that have been implemented and projects that are
completed that use the principles of smart growth to create
livable, vital environments.

Anniversary
Celebration of "How Shall We Grow?"
On
August 21st 2009, the City Planning Division along
with other Central Florida cities, presented our planning
principles and improvements in a trade show display to
celebrate the progress that we've made in regional growth.

Hospital's Health Village
Florida
Hospital is planning to expand its campus through
redevelopment in the Orange Avenue/Princeton Street area.
The Hospital is planning to add hospital, medical, office,
retail and residential uses. The City is currently reviewing
the Hospital's development applications.

of Downtown Vision Plan
The
City of Orlando is currently drafting a vision plan, for a
550-acre district, to make estimates for development and
identify necessary infrastructure modifications.
