Landscape Uses
Dwarf Palmetto is one of the hardiest palms in the world.  Use it in mixed borders or hedges.  This shrub is also especially well-suited for massing around the base of a large live oak, or other shady places.

Fun Facts
The difference between Dwarf Palmetto and Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens) are the leaves.  Dwarf Palmetto leaves have a short midrib.  Another interesting fact about Dwarf Palmetto is its trunk.  It is an optical illusion; it appears that the plant is trunk-less, but there is one - it is underground.
