Landscape Uses
Use Creeping Fig to create cool green curtains of dense foliage on unattractive block, masonry, or concrete walls.  This vine covers surfaces with a tracery of fine stems that are densely covered with small heart shaped leaves.  They are held closely to the surface creating a mat of foliage that extends barely 1 inch from the surface.  The fruit is a fig which is borne only on the mature horizontal stems.

Special Notes
Do not plant near wooden structures because the vine can damage the surface.  The vine can be a high maintenance plant and pruning may be required several times a year to remove growth from windows, roofs, etc.  The vine will relentlessly endeavor to coat everything it encounters in a green blanket.

Fun Facts
For a "quick" topiary of geometric shapes and animals, Creeping Fig is a great choice.  Fully line the frames with sphagnum moss and fill with a growing medium.  Plant Creeping Fig in the frame.  The plant will soon cover the shape in a thin coat of fine juvenile leaves.
