Entitled The City Beautiful: The Legacy Continues, the proposed $30 million dollar investment over three years would add nine new parks to the City and would increase community and park acreage by 36 percent to 1,000 acres. A $5 million down payment for the new parks and ball fields would come from City savings built up through the years as Mayor Hood has restructured City departments to reduce operating costs while maintaining the quality of City services.
