Event: G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) Summer
Camp
SUMMARY:
We would like to invite all of the media to attend our Annual G.R.E.A.T. (Gang
Resistance Education and Training) Summer Camp. This is a joint effort between
the Orlando Police Department and the Orange County Sheriffs Office. There are
approximately 135 kids in the camp, ages 10-14 who will participate at the
Florida Citrus Bowl, August 7, 2008. At approx 10 A.M. the OCSO will land their
Chopper at the event. Participants will include the Mounted Patrol Unit, K-9
Unit, SWAT Team, OFD Arson Squad and McGruff the Crime Dog.
We our very proud of these students who make good decisions to stay away from
drugs, violence, and negative peer pressure. The kids have done a miraculous job
for the last year and we are proud to showcase them all. This is a GREAT example
of what is RIGHT with our youth of today. We hope you will join us.
