Around the Station
How do I report a crime, suspicious
incident, etc.?
If you are in the city limits of Orlando, dial 911. Even if you do not think it
is an emergency, use 911 because this reduces the amount of information the call
taker has to enter into the computer. The call taker will determine the degree
of urgency your call requires by the information they get from you. If you are
outside our City limits and need to report an incident that occurred within the
City limits, call 321-235-5300.
Criminal incidents that occur outside the city limits of Orlando must be
reported to the law enforcement agency having jurisdiction where the incident
occurred.

How can I contact the officer that investigated a crime against me or an
accident I was in?
Telephone our Communications division at 321-235-5300. If the officer is on duty
at that time, a message will be forwarded to the officer to call you when he/she
completes the call they are on. If the officer is not on duty, you will be
forwarded to their supervisor's voice mail. Leave your name, phone number, the
best time to call you back, and the purpose of your call. Be sure to include
your case number . (Just a hint, you can improve your chances of speaking
directly with the officer if you call at the same time of day you originally
dealt with that officer.

How do I make a complaint on a member of the Orlando Police Department?
If you feel an officer acted improperly, there are two ways to make a complaint.
If you know who the employee's supervisor is, you may contact him/her directly
by telephoning 321-235-5300. If you do not know who the supervisor is, but know
the officer’s name, the call taker can tell you who the officer’s supervisor is.

get back with you.
If you feel the complaint is too serious to be handled by the supervisor, or is
a complaint regarding criminal conduct on the employee's part, you may contact

works regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Do you sell used police cars, motorcycles, unclaimed evidence, etc?
The city of Orlando periodically has auctions to sell vehicles of all types,
sizes and uses, used tools, computers, furniture and anything else that is
needed to make our City run. We also auction unclaimed items found in our
evidence room, with the exception of bicycles, which are donated to a local
charity. The auctions are scheduled on an as needed basis and are advertised
through the local media and on the City’s web page several weeks before the
auction date. The City’s web site address is:

Where do I complain about congested traffic or careless drivers in my
neighborhood?
A big part of the Orlando Police Department's Mission Statement is to " maintain
livable neighborhoods." We recognize the number one complaint at nearly every

traffic problems in your neighborhood, we have installed a Traffic Hotline.
Simply dial 407-246-2906 and leave a recorded message including the location,
time, and the nature of the problem you are encountering. If you would like to
meet with one of our Traffic Enforcement Officers, please leave your name,
telephone number and the best time to call you, and we will schedule an
appointment.

Can I get extra patrol for my residence while I am away on vacation?
Our patrol officers patrol each neighborhood frequently; however, due to the
high demand for police services, we cannot accept the responsibility for the
security of each individual residence. We encourage residents to become active
members of Citizens for Neighborhood Watch, and suggest you get to know your
neighbors and ask them to pick up your newspapers and mail when you are away.
This is actually more effective because your neighbors will notice when
something is amiss at your home more quickly. They know better what is
"normal" in and around your property. You may find other useful hints to
better prepare for a vacation on our website at: http://www.cityoforlando.net/police/vacation.htm.
(back to FAQs)
Can I get an officer to escort me to the bank for a deposit?
We simply do not have the manpower to efficiently honor such requests from the
thousands of businesses in Orlando. We do understand the concern when such a
request is made, and we urge business owners to plan ahead and coordinate with
a private security company or armored car service.
(back to FAQs)
Where can I find the social service organization I need for my specific

Telephone “We Care” at 407-425-2624. They will assess your individual needs

telephone numbers at our Telephone Numbers web page.
