National Night Out Trainings & Classes
These events are free and open to the public. Some events may require registration.

NNO Senior Safety Summit and NNO Spanish Senior Safety Summit – (dates and times TBD) The Neighborhood Watch Unit will host a summit entitled Crime Prevention Techniques for Seniors at (Location TBD.) This summit offers an opportunity for seniors and supportive police officers to collaborate and prevent crimes against seniors in Orlando. OPD and OFD will cover a variety of subjects from Senior Self Defense to Target Hardening A Home. Call now to register: 407-246-2369.

NNO CPR Class – Thursday, May 23, Tuesday, June 25 & Monday, July 8, 6 - 8 p.m. Classes will be held at the OPD Training Facility - 100 George DeSalvia Way.  Please call 407-246-2369 to register or email takela.young@cityoforlando.net.

NNO Goes To Church on Sunday – August 5, 2013. The entire City of Orlando will be asked to spend a few minutes in prayer for our neighborhoods, our law enforcement officers, government officials, and our military. Please pledge your churches participation by calling 407-246-3628 or emailing takela.young@cityoforlando.net. The first ten churches that pledge their participation are eligible to receive a visit from an OPD Chaplain during their prayer time.

National Night Out Leader’s Training - April 25, 2013, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the OPD Headquarters (100 S. Hughey Ave., Orlando, FL 32801). Please call 407-246-2369 to register or email Georgeanna.butler@cityoforlando.net by April 15, 2013. Class size is limited to 150.

NNO Women’s Self Defense Class – May 7, 2013 at Dr. James R. Smith Center, May 8, 2013 at Wadeview Community Center, and May 15, 2013 at Village Walk at Lake Nona, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Please call 407-246-2369 to register or email takela.young@cityoforlando.net.

NNO Teen Police Academy - June 17 – June 26, 2013, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The academy is open to all high school students and is designed to offer a glimpse into the field of law enforcement. Please call 407-246-3939 or email sonya.robinson@cityoforlando.net to register.

3 NNO Kick Off Parties – Sodo, August 5, 2013, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., College Park, August 5, 2013 and Festival Bay Mall, August 4, 2013(the Neighborhood Watch Unit is working to confirm the italicized dates and times). The Orlando Police Department will host a Crime Prevention Block Party for City of Orlando residents. Come out and meet your local patrol officer, city commissioner, police chief and mayor. Enjoy free food, drink and entertainment while giving crime and drugs a going away party.
