How to Report a Crime

The following is the order the Orlando Police Department prefers to receive your information. This order may differ in other jurisdictions.

  1. Type of Crime

  2. Location of crime

  3. Crime in progress or when it occurred

  4. Description of vehicle

  5. Description of suspect

  6. Suspect Armed?

  7. Direction of travel

  8. Give your name, address, and phone number

  9. Stay on line until you are told to hang up

After calling police, activate your Neighborhood Watch telephone chain (picture of police car) If you come home to find you have been burglarized, do not enter your house or apartment. Immediately find a phone and call the police. Wait at a safe nearby location until they arrive.
