Orlando Police Officers responded to 1340 West Gore Street (Family Dollar Store) in reference to an armed commercial robbery on August 9, 2014. At 10:59 p.m. a black male suspect wearing black pants, short sleeved black shirt (turned inside out), black shoes, and a black ski mask entered the store with what appeared to be a black semi-auto handgun. The suspect went directly to the front register where he demanded the clerk to open the safe. She told him she couldn’t because it is on a time delay. During that time, the store manager walked up front and the suspect ordered her to open the safe; and again he was told the safe could not be opened.
The suspect took approximately $100 in cash from the register before leaving the store on foot. Nobody was hurt during the armed robbery. Suspect is approximately, 5’6” tall, 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The incident was captured on security video.
