The Orlando Police Department Chief of Police, John W. Mina, recognizes that an important and essential building block of a police agency is open communication with the public it serves. Chief Mina firmly believes this ensures the confidence, respect and trust of the citizens of Orlando.
The Orlando Police Department is responsive to media requests and provides the media with the most up-to-date and accurate information available; thereby keeping the community informed about current events, programs and news. The Media Relations Office consists of one sergeant who is the official spokesperson for the agency and handles inquiries from the media.
