NNO Teen Police and Fire Academy

This free nine-day course will be offered to students enrolled in 9th – 12th grade and aims to foster relationships between the police and fire departments and youth in the community.

The academy will cover:

  • Uniform patrol
  • Assault and battery
  • Hands-only CPR training
  • Drug enforcement
  • College preparedness
  • Careers in law enforcement and fire department
  • Fire hose training

Hispanic Senior Safety Summit

This summit offers an opportunity for Spanish speaking seniors and supportive Spanish speaking police officers to collaborate and prevent crimes against seniors in Orlando. OPD, OFD and Family, Parks and Recreation will cover a variety of subjects to include, but not limited to Hands-Only CPR, Residential and Personal Safety and Preventing Identity Theft. Pastries, coffee and fruit will be provided.

District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz will host the National Night Out Dog Watcher Watch Yappy Hour to give the community the opportunity to meet with Orlando Police Department officers and the K-9 Unit while learning about Dog Walker Watch, a crime prevention program that enlists citizen dog walkers to serve as extra eyes and ears for law enforcement.
