Orlando Police Officer Helps To Save a Life In Washington D.C.

As officers from around the United States are in Washington D.C. for National Police Week to honor fellow officers who gave their life in service, an Orlando Police Officer and another Officer from St. Louis save a life!

On May 14, 2014, a pipe and drum member from Indiana who was marching in the parade at the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. collapsed from a heart attack and wasn’t breathing. Orlando Police Lt. Doug Goerke and an Officer from St. Louis immediately rendered aid, administered CPR and applied the use of an AED. The person survived as a result of their efforts. Orlando Police Motor Units who are also participating in the police week activities assisted by escorting the ambulance to the hospital. The media in D.C. aired a story on this event. I have included the link to a story from WJLA.
