KITTEN RESCUE-ORLANDO EVENT CENTER

On September 15, 2009 at approximately 9:30 p.m., An OPD Officer Amir Paymayesh was stopped by a citizen at Church and Bryan. The citizen pointed up to the newly installed metal beams on the outside North wall of the Orlando Event Center. The citizen heard kittens meowing and he noticed that they were approximately 50 feet from the ground on top of an 8" metal beam. The beams are accessible only by crane and the kittens must have been inside the beam when it was welded in place recently. The officer located security at the construction site and asked that a lift be used to get the kittens. The officer also volunteered to go up the lift to assist with the rescue. During the rescue, the officer managed to wrap both kittens in his jacket before the kittens were brought safely to the ground.

The citizen who spotted the kittens adopted the kittens and will provide a new home for them.
