2010
International Association Chiefs of Police Conference (IACP)
The Orlando Police Department is excited
about serving as the host agency for the 2010 International Association of
Chiefs of Police (IACP) Conference. The Conference will be held at the Orange
County Convention Center, October 22-27, 2010. Conference attendees will be able
to experience all of the things that make Orlando one of the fastest growing,
most business-friendly and quality of life-centered cities in our nation. It is
a true honor for any city to host the International Association of Chiefs of
Police conference. It draws law enforcement executives from around the world and
showcases the host agency. This is a historic conference for the Orlando Police
Department as Chief Val B. Demings will be the first female Chief of Police to
host the IACP in Orlando. The Orlando Police Department was selected in 2004 to
host the 2010 IACP conference. OPD personnel have been planning for the
conference since 2008. This is the 117th annual conference. We have over 700
exhibiting vendors and expect to attract over 14,500 people to visit the exhibit
hall. Thirty-three hotels along the I-Drive corridor are being used with the
four main hotels being the Peabody, Rosen Centre, Rosen Plaza, and the Hilton
Orlando. However, dozens of hotels will be utilized in the Tri-County area to
facilitate this important conference. Host Chiefs Night provided by IACP will be
at Universal Orlando on Monday, October 25, 2010.
