Event: 13th Annual Kicks for Guns

Date: Thursday, August 16, 2012

Time: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Location: Florida Citrus Bowl, Lot C
(corner of Church Street and Tampa Avenue)

The Orlando Police Department will host its 14th annual "Kicks for Guns" event on August 16, 2012, from 7:00am until 7:00 pm. This year the event will be held at the Florida Citrus Bowl, Lot C located at the corner of Church Street and Tampa Avenue.

During this event anyone can turn in a gun anonymously with no questions asked regardless of who you are.

For citizens turning in firearms, they will receive a $50.00 gift card. All Guns must be unloaded and placed in either a bag or a case. A range officer will be present to assist anyone who has a problem unloading their gun.

This year the Orlando Police Department will provide a gun pick up service for senior citizens, who reside within the City of Orlando’s jurisdiction. Senior citizens who want to exchange unwanted guns for a gift card but who are unable to respond to the site can call the Orlando Police Department Communications Center at 321.235.5300 and an officer will be dispatched to pick up their unwanted guns.

This year, we will accept BB guns and replicas of guns but there will be NO GIFT CARDS EXCHANGED for these items.
