Stormwater UtilityNeighborhood
Meetings
Unfortunately many
residents are unaware of pollution prevention practices and
therefore may contribute to stormwater and lake pollution. Some
examples of poor housekeeping practices at home include washing cars
in the driveway and allowing the wash water to make its way to a
nearby stormwater drain, by over fertilizing, blowing grass and/or
leaves into paved surfaces, or by disposing of household hazardous
waste improperly. Anything in our streets, driveways, parking
lots, alley ways, or any paved surface will more than likely end up
in a nearby lake whenever it rains (click
here to learn more). We feel that educating our
residents is the best way to help save Orlando's lakes. Even
if you do not have lakefront property or have a lake near by, you
still have an impact on their water quality via neighborhood
and City streets. Water is our most precious
natural resource and it is crucial that we
all take part and do what we can to maintain water quality. Let
us come out to your next neighborhood meeting or event and educate
you and your neighbors on local lakes, stormwater, lake
pollution, and ways to help prevent pollutants from reaching our
lakes! Or, to address issues on your neighborhood lake. Click the link below for complete list of Contact Katie Kulbaba at 407.246.2257 or e-mail to make arrangements. |
