Mission Statement

The mission of the Public  Works Department is to enhance Orlando's quality of life through the construction and operation of a safe, effective physical environment; and to provide our visitors, our neighborhoods, and our businesses the efficient, quality services necessary to support the infrastructure demands of our growing, diverse community.

Department Description

The Department plans, designs and constructs public projects; and reviews and inspects all capital improvements. It maintains streets and sidewalks, parks and City open spaces, street trees,  lake and storm drainage facilities. It controls traffic movement; provides adequate parking for the downtown area; acquires, maintains and repairs all City vehicles; and provides maintenance, repair and minor construction services for all City structures.
