  Glossary

Comments:  Lake restoration measures include a draw down in the 1970's with partial muck removal and a whole lake alum treatment in 1992.  Neither project resulted in long term improvements.  A draw down of the lake in spring of 1999 appears to have resulted in short term water quality improvements.  Lake went dry in 2001 and entire bottom was dredged to remove muck resulting in water quality improvements.  Historic high TSI values may have been due to suspension of nutrient rich sediments by wind and large winter bird population.
