Earthday
2000
Back to main page
April 21st, 2000 marked the 30th celebration of Earth Day, the annual
day long festival that looks to educate people, specifically children,
on the importance of protecting our environment. Both private business
and local government joined together to offer information in an
entertaining fashion.
The bureau takes an active role in the festivities by combining free
gifts with informative displays. Giveaways included posters, bags,
trees, plants, pogs and the ever popular honorary deputy badges. Mark
Sees and his airboat display where a hit as was the putt-putt golf
course.
Overall another successful celebration of the environment and bus loads
of happy children made all the hard work worth the effort.
