They're back...
Thats right, the Wastewater Wizards have performed magic once again at
the Florida Water Resources Conference. State Champions in 1998, the
Wizards reformed for 2000 to take 1st place in the lab, process and
safety category; 2nd in pump maintenance; and 3rd in collections.
Art Saey
coordinating the successful team comprised of
John Lomberk, Maria Lachney, Ron Proulx, Paul Deuels
and
Roy Pelletier
will travel to California in October for the national competition.
This event, sponsored by the Florida Water and Pollution Control
Operators Association and the Water Environment Federation, brings
together municipalities statewide to test various aspects of pump
maintenance, confined space entry, process control functions, collection
systems and laboratory analysis.
The overall standings were: 1st place - City of Orlando; 2nd place -
City of St. Petersburg; 3rd place - City of Tampa; 4th place - City of
Ft. Lauderdale and 5th place - Collier County.
Congratulations to all involved for their hardwork and exemplary
representation of the City of Orlando.
