Get ready to pack the house and raise the curtain for the 2017 City Showcase coming to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 7 – 9 p.m. More than 500 summer school students from 16 neighborhood centers (including Downtown Rec/PKZ) are teaming up to build sets, write skits, block and choreograph dances for a showcase that is created and put on by them.

This year’s theme is “What’s Trending Now”.  Students will perform to music from two of today’s top R&B artists.

Students will be judged in the following categories:

  • Ages 5 – 10
  • Ages 11 – 14
  • Props (only one winner will be selected from this category)

The City Showcase gives our youth a platform to express themselves through the arts. Come see the talent hit the stage.
