Programs

VOLUNTEER COACHES WANTED:   We are currently seeking positions for citizens to volunteer coach for the following sports programs, which include two practices and one game each week.

  • Orlando Youth Soccer (OYS) September – November
  • Orlando Youth Basketball (OYB) January  – March
  • Orlando Youth Flag Football (OYFF) April – June
  • Orlando Youth Tee-Ball (OYTB) April – June

YOUTH/TEEN 

After-School Program & 21st Century: (grades K-5th) In partnership with the 21st Century Program, the Orlando After School program is completely Complimentary and offers academic instruction in core and specialized subject areas. The 21st Century Program provides project based learning activities to compliment regular academic programs learned in the classroom. Pick-Up is available for Englewood Elementary and Chickasaw Elementary, as well as BridgePrep Academy.

This program takes place Monday – Friday After School – 6 p.m.

School Vacation Days Camp: (grades K-5th) Program offered during Orange County Public School holidays/breaks. Program hours are 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Parents must provide lunch and snack daily.

Cost: City of Orlando resident $8 per day per child. Two proofs of residency required. MUST provide driver’s license, water bill or electric bill showing City address.

Non- City resident $10 per day per child.

Community Support (City residents only) Must complete a community support application (EBT) to determine eligibility.

Summer Camp and the 21st Century Program: (Age Groups: must have completed Kindergarten through entering 5th grade) A safe and affordable summer “day” camp program for youth who have completed Kindergarten up to fifth grade. This program is offered Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. for 10 weeks. Summer Camp offers a variety of recreational and academic activities, including swimming, project based learning, crafts, indoor and outdoor activities, exciting field trips (additional expense), computer labs and special events. More information on registration and cost TBD.

REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM

SATURDAY, APRIL 6th 2019. 

Junior Counselor: (ages 14-15) This year round volunteer program offers teens the opportunity to learn job skills by assisting recreation staff during programs and events. Please call for more details.

Sports/Fitness

OYB -Orlando Youth Basketball: (ages 4-13) Developmental and instructional league that teaches the fundamentals and fun of basketball. Registration for the three month season begins in November until full and season starts January. Cost: $40 per player, which includes the jersey. OYB Pre-formed teams 15 age division must provide uniform and includes 2 practices a week $40 per player.

OYS- Orlando Youth Soccer: (ages 4-9) Developmental and instructional league that teaches the fundamentals and fun of soccer. Fall league runs from October-November. Cost: $40 per player, which includes the jersey. Must provide birth certificate and report card at the time of registration

OYFF – Orlando Youth Flag Football: (ages 7-9 and 10-12) Developmental and instructional league that teaches the fundamentals of flag football. Registration starts March 5th – April 6th. Spring League runs from March-June.  Cost: $40 per player, which includes the jersey. Must provide birth certificate and report card at the time of registration.

OYTB – Orlando Youth Tee Ball: (ages 4-6 and 7-9) Developmental and instructional league that teaches the fundamentals and the fun of Tee-Ball. Registration starts March 5th – April 6th. Spring League runs from March-June. Cost: $40 per player, which includes the jersey. Must provide birth certificate and report card at the time of registration.

Ballin’ After Dark (all ages): Prevention program that provides participants with a safe and positive alternative to late night activities. This open gym basketball program is offered every Saturday from 7 p.m. – midnight. Cost: free.

ADULTS/SENIORS

Seniors Program: Program coordinated through Seniors First, Inc., for adults ages 55 and older Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Register through Seniors First, Inc.

Adult English Classes: English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes are offered Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. –12 p.m. following the Orange County Public School calendar. No classes are available in the summer. Please contact 407.482.6304 to register or get more information.

• Small multi-purpose rooms – $30 per hour – capacity 42 persons
• Large multi-purpose rooms – $50 per hour – capacity 100 persons
• Kitchen – $15 per hour
• Gymnasium (sporting events only) – $65 per hour – capacity 533 persons
• Outside basketball courts – $30 per hour
• Softball field – $25/$40 per hour
• Large park pavilion – $75 daily fee
• Small park pavilion – $30 daily fee

Rental Policy and Procedures

• $100 Refundable damage/cleanup deposit
• General liability insurance is required and is not refundable. It must be provided at time of rental or purchased through the City. Cost varies depending upon the number of attendees.
• No alcoholic beverages allowed
• All rentals must be paid in full at time of booking
• Rentals must be canceled at least 72 hours prior to event to receive a refund
