|Performs work for the procurement of materials to include coordination of times, dates, and location of
Performs work to ensure materials are ordered from the current contract vendor and delivered
at the contract price; and research lowest bid price from vendors when no contract exists.
Performs work to include maintaining optimum level of supplies and materials; inspections of maintenance shops and
storage areas; tracking petroleum use for various City programs; maintaining records both electronically
and on paper; and acting as property custodian.
May fill in for Materials & Equipment Maintenance supervisor in his/her absence.
|Input credit and debit journal entries, and balance various City department accounts.
Call in repair orders for various department's maintenance needs.
Maintains records incident to the procurement, inventory, receipt and issuance of supplies and materials,
parts, tools and equipment. Recommends the type and amount of inventory items.
Organizes and participates in the creation of the physical inventory system.
Initiates procurement of special orders through the use of currently prescribed ordering practices
including the use of JD Edwards, Lotus Notes MS Office and other computer procurement systems.
Maintains optimum level of safety products including, but not limited to, barricades, barricade lights, batteries, bulbs safety
tape and other related safety products.
Signing out of materials and equipment to include wood, steel, aggregates, bricks, barricades, aquatic
chemicals, air compressors, concrete saws, generators, blowers, weed eaters, pumps, and various
types of drainage grates frames & covers.
Ensure that Woods Avenue storage and maintenance facility and/or other assigned storage and maintenance facilities are in compliance with N.P.D.E.S., section: Part III A3. This is accomplished through weekly inspections of the facility adhering to standard
operational procedures as outlined by Bureau.
Answering telephones and radio calls and responding to instructions, information and needs of citizens and City employees.
Other duties as may be assigned.
|Knowledge of warehousing methods, principles and practices, inventory maintenance and control as well as
Ordering materials from a variety of suppliers, making sure that contract venders are used if possible.
Research for the lowest price through a bid process or price comparison if contract venders are not available.
Coordination of deliveries to be sure that times, dates, personnel and equipment are available for deliveries.
Thorough knowledge of materials, supplies used by this bureau.
Knowledge of transportation agencies and shipping methods.
Knowledge of automated inventory control systems.
Knowledge of account transactions using JD Edwards system
Ability to utilize the Internet, MS Office, JD Edwards, Lotus Notes, and other computer programs as may be necessary.
Ability to utilize computer resources to research materials, equipment, specifications, prices, availability and ordering.
Skill in communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public.
Ability to accurately maintain complex records and prepare accurate reports.
Records maintenance of materials to ensure a balance of received and issued materials, equipment, petroleum, chemicals and supplies.
Ability to establish and maintain accurate record keeping, purchasing and requisitioning procedures.
Ability to coordinate deliveries, and store and issue supplies on a daily basis.
Ability to perform inventory control by a daily visual check on supplies and materials.
Ability to perform a quarterly/annual written inventory on chemicals and materials.
Ability to conduct an annual inventory inspection on equipment in the Property Control section.
|Associate's Degree, plus Two years administrative experience in warehousing, property control, materials management or a combination of education, training and experience.
Valid Florida driver's license required.
