|Performs professional, supervisory and technical management work applying skills in television programming, communication, video system design, and advanced data processing techniques to televise City Council meetings. Work involves managing the day-to-day operations of the broadcast facility to result in quality productions of City Council meetings. Work is performed under general supervision of the Deputy Director of Communications, and is reviewed for quality of service and results achieved.|
|Responsible for the administration of activities for the bi-monthly television broadcast of the City Council meetings on the Government Access Channel.
Analyzes production and programming requirements; develops and recommends solutions and schedules. Based upon analysis, assigns and supervises freelance/productions staff for broadcast, print publishing projects and presentations, coordination with Orange TV, developing a master edit list for outside edit vendor and ensures compliance to procedures and guidelines..
Executive produce programs for broadcast and internal projects, including all phases of production. Administers, coordinates, and provides technical or content support to ensure utilization of the right communication tools for producing quality results.
Oversees and analyzes the video production facilities, resources and budget authorizations.
Develop and coordinate media broadcasts and Mayoral productions to communicate City services to the mass audience. This includes scripting, editing, scheduling and producing broadcast communications in accordance with goals set forth by the department director.
Coordinate with public information (ESF 14) during a disaster situation at the Emergency Operations Center in conjunction with City Video Production needs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
|ú Considerable knowledge of communications and broadcast production principles, practices, and methods of broadcast facility and graphic operations for a televised government access broadcast.
ú Knowledge of audio and video production equipment.
ú Knowledge of live and taped programming formats.
ú Extensive knowledge of video production, script writing, and story board techniques.
ú Knowledge of government and community standards for acceptable broadcast material and ability to judge appropriateness of material.
ú Knowledge of statutes, guidelines, and regulations that relate to government access on a cable system.
ú Must possess leadership, team building, broadcast engineering, production facility development skills.
ú Must be skilled in the operation of cameras and video equipment and in shooting and editing video materials.
ú Must be skilled in the use of computers and automated formats, field production, and editing.
ú Ability to produce and broadcast professional quality live, videotaped, and scrolling text production.
ú Ability to find and use outside resources to enhance operation goals.
ú Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
ú The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, various departments within the City, cable television representatives, and general public.
ú Possess the ability to work well under pressure, tight deadlines, effectively interpret complex information to achieve results within budget and resources.
|Associate's degree with major course work in communication, television production, journalism or related field and five (5) years experience in area of broadcast production, video graphing, engineering, including supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. Valid Florida Driver's License.|
