|CENTROPLEX MAINTENANCE COORD|

|Performs responsible technical and administrative work supervising maintenance operations of several large buildings used for exhibits, entertainment and sporting events. Primary duties include developing and implementing maintenance and preventive maintenance programs for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and structural care and repair; requisitioning equipment, tools, materials and supplies; and overseeing the work performed by outside contractors. Work is performed under general supervision of the Centroplex Director. Performance is reviewed through conferences, condition of facilities and reports submitted.|
|Plan, organize, schedule and supervise maintenance operations for municipal arena, auditorium, and exposition center.
Develop, implement, and participate in maintenance and preventive maintenance programs for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems as well as structural care for facilities and grounds.
Direct the repair and/or maintenance of ice machines, emergency power generators, drinking fountains, refrigerators and other specialized equipment.
Design and/or construct changes to facilities as needed to accommodate events; may assist with set-up operations.
Represent Director at various meetings regarding planning and development of facilities; monitor construction, and major repairs and keep management informed of progress problems and related matters.
Consult with architects, engineers, contractors, and City Managers to provide advice regarding the design, construction, and/or renovation of facilities.
Purchase hand tools, power tools, special equipment, cleaning chemicals and other supplies. Authorize invoices for payment upon receipt of items.
Participate in the development and administration of budget for maintenance operations.
Participate in the coordination and scheduling of work requiring outside contractors or additional maintenance personnel.
Perform routine inspections of facilities, and equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA, County and related regulations.
Provide training to employees regarding proper work methods, new techniques, and safety precautions.
Prepare and submit reports regarding maintenance operations.
Perform other duties as needed to facilitate the accomplishment of goals and objectives.
|Knowledge of the methods and practices involved in installation, preventive maintenance and repairing a variety of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems and various equipment.
Knowledge of advanced mechanical principles as they apply to heating, cooling, ventilating systems, and advanced principles of electricity. Monitors stages of construction when possible violations and defects may most easily be observed and corrected.
Knowledge of City Building Code including Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical codes and applicable rules and regulations.
Skill in performing master level electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work.
Ability to use standard testing devices to detect possible defects in plumbing, electrical and/or mechanical systems and recommend remedial measures.
Ability to read building plans and specifications.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to plan, supervise, and review work of subordinates.
Ability to effectively communicate the requirements of the various codes, both orally and in writing.
Ability to prepare written reports and maintain accurate records.
Ability to operate pick up truck, fork lift, high reach and related equipment.
Ability to perform inspections of facilities and systems.
|Two (2) years college or trade school with courses in building construction plus a minimum of four (4) years experience in building construction and maintenance operations for a large public assembly facility, two (2) of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
Master level competency card in either: electrical, mechanical, or plumbing field. Valid Florida Driver License is required prior to employment.
