|Performs skilled technical and specialized clerical work in assembly and processing of information utilizing a personal computer. Employees in this class are responsible for providing general and technical assistance to professional and managerial employees, without prescribed methods and procedures. Technical duties may involve assembly, processing, correcting and reprocessing data entered into a personal computer utilizing a variety of sophisticated software packages such as, LOTUS, EXCEL, UNIX, D?BASE, WORD PERFECT, AUTOCAD AND FRAMEMAKER 2.0. Work also includes compiling statistics for reports, collecting data, maintaining and updating records. Much of this work is done without supervision so initiative and judgment are required in the development of procedures and in the proper selection of existing software.|
|Performs data processing, data manipulation, printing and paste-up tasks in support of office operations.
Mixes text, graphics and math to interactively format complex page layouts in order to create lengthy technical documents, training manuals, reports, etc.
Assembles and inputs information into personal computer utilizing a variety of software packages such as LOTUS, EXCEL, AUTOCAD, FRAMEMAKER, WORDPERFECT, UNIX, AND D?BASE.
Represents department in technical interfaces with Management Information Department personnel.
Inspects input documents for routine errors and prioritizes material prior to entry into personal computer system.
Performs secretarial/clerical/receptionist office demands when requested, such as typing, general typing, answering the telephone, etc.
Trains employees on word processing equipment.
Monitors office supply inventory; prepares paperwork for supplies and printing services.
Transcribes and enters proposals, policies and procedures, minutes, memoranda, reports, supervisory directives, rules and regulations and other material of a technical/specialized matter into word processor/personal computer.
Prepare for supervisory review all federal, state and local monthly/quarterly reports and submit same within deadlines established.
Assists with day to day main computer operations which includes trouble shooting.
Composes first draft of forms used by different programs; prepares approved material in final form for printing.
Creates new programs to collect data from each section used in quarterly budget reports, documents, reports, etc.
Performs other related work as assigned.
|Knowledge of English composition and grammar.
Knowledge of the operating characteristics and maintenance of a personal computer.
Knowledge of specialized software packages such as Lotus, EXCEL, AUTOCAD, etc.
Knowledge of the causes of data rejection or error and the action required for correction.
Knowledge of the scheduling and priority of jobs applicable to personal computer operations in the area of assignment.
Skill in the operation of personal computers and peripheral data processing equipment.
Ability to type at least 35 CWPM.
Ability to prioritize assignments and work independently.
Ability to perform detail work quickly and accurately.
|High School graduate with some technical data processing courses, typing, and six (6) months to one (l) year experience as a personal computer operator to include experience utilizing AUTOCAD and D-Base software Word Perfect or Lotus packages; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Some positions within this class may require the ability to type at least 35 WPM.
