|SEIU Supervisor Non-Exempt|
|Performs skilled and supervisory work with some administrative responsibility involving pavement markings and installation of traffic signs. Duties include assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work and preparing monthly activity report. Work is performed under the supervision of the Signs and Markings Supervisor and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through conferences, inspection of job sites and evaluation of completed work.|
|Receives work orders, organizes and coordinates activities of crews involved in sign installation or pavement markings; maintains work order log.
Inspects work while in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Bureau standards; trains crew members in proper work procedures, safety and equipment operation.
Determines equipment, materials and supplies needed; calculates quantities and assembles documents for ordering materials; maintains signs & pavement markings field inventory.
Participants in selection, training, counseling of employees; assists in preparation of work schedules.
Prepares monthly reports of all work accomplished; prepares breakdown of materials and hours for signs and pavement markings serviced/replaced and/or new orders.
Contacts Florida DOT or Orange County regarding signs and markings in need of repair/replacement which are out of City's jurisdiction; meets with other Bureaus to discuss changes to be made for signage or pavement markings.
Performs duties as assigned.
|Knowledge of Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices standards and Florida Department of Transportation standards regarding signs and pavement markings.
Knowledge of materials and equipment and methods used in sign fabrication, installation and maintenance.
Knowledge of procedures, methods, and equipment used in application of thermoplastic pavement markings.
Knowledge of work hazards and applicable safety precautions.
Knowledge of supervisory techniques and methods.
Ability to coordinate activities of several skilled and semi-skilled workers.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and to read and interpret sketches, diagrams, blueprints, and charts.
Ability to make estimates of time and materials needed, and to maintain related records.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
|High School graduate plus four (4) years experience in installation of traffic signs and pavement markings; one (1) of which must have been in a supervisor capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Level II Signs and Markings IMSA Certification Required. Level III (3) Signs & Marking Certification preferred. Florida Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification required. Valid Florida Drivers License required.
