|Performs advanced technical and supervisory work with responsibility for the preparation of graphic materials and publications. Work is of a specialized nature requiring administrative and advanced technical ability in the coordination of related graphics projects, supervision of technical personnel, in addition to performance of complex artwork and graphics assignments and special technical reports and studies. The incumbent reports directly to the Director of Communications. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through discussions and evaluation of results obtained.|
|Plans, organizes, supervises and evaluates the work of technical graphics personnel.
Trains and teaches technical graphic personnel about new software and technologies.
Responsible for managing web team and graphic team budget.
Performs advanced layout, design, and production work associated with complex graphics projects.
Performs advanced Internet graphic layout, design and production work associated with all phases of Internet.
Coordinates graphic standards for City Internet project with Web Coordinator and Technology Management.
Recommends most visually and cost-effective graphic or pictorial presentation.
Prepares specifications and evaluation of proposals for graphics reproduction services.
Maintains graphic section operating supplies and equipment inventory.
Designs and prepares graphics for flyers, newsletters, posters, and other materials for City business.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
|Knowledge of production methods, techniques, equipment, design principles, and printing processes.
Knowledge of photographic negatives, effect reproduction, silk screening, platemaking, separations, and color calibration
knowledge of website design, accessiblity, web server troubleshooting, search engine optization
Knowledge of Internet creation and design.
Skill in the operation of graphic desing eqipment
Skill in the use of various grapichs design
Ability to prepare various comprehensive visual forms such as drawings, renderings, charts and maps
Ability to operate personal computer.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to set up access privisleges and new sites on development and producation servers.
|Associate's Degree with major coursework in graphic arts or related field and three (3) years Internet creation experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.|
