|Reviews and evaluates preliminary and final construction plans to ensure compliance with the City of Orlando land development code, zoning ordinance, and other applicable codes or standards; determine fees and conditions for permit issuance; maintains accurate records; provides customer services, and performs other duties as assigned. Areas of responsibility for review may include storm drainage, sewer, parking areas, signage, and landscape plans. Development Review Technician II's are expected to be technically proficient and perform work under general supervision|
|Reviews plans, specifications, and other construction documents to ensure compliance with various City of Orlando Land Development Codes, zoning ordinance, and other applicable codes and standards; recommends alternate means of compliance; calculates a variety of impact fees such as traffic, streets, storm drainage systems, and sanitary sewer systems utilizing standard formulas; reviews, processes, and interprets applications for allocation of sewer capacity, plats, landscape plans, vehicular use area, parking lots, driveways, signs, right of way, and as-built drawings of drainage and sanitary sewer laterals to determine and plot existing characteristics of proposed construction projects; enters, retrieves, and modifies data on specialized computer system; outlines conditions for approval of plan and permit issuance for supervisory review; prepares feasibility reports; provides information regarding plan review process and permitting requirements to architects, engineers, and the public; attends various meetings such as Technical Review Committee, Board of Zoning Adjustment; and performs other related duties as assigned.|
|Knowledge of the City of Orlando Land Development Code including Chapter 59, Storm Water Management, Sewer Service Policy, Engineering Standards, and Concurrency Management; building construction methods, design terminology, and blueprint reading techniques; basic math; computer skills; ability to read, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and codes when reviewing plans, technical drawings, construction documents, specifications and blueprints; ability to interpret and enforce compliance with regulations with tact and impartiality. Ability to communicate effectively orally and to prepare written documents accurately. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during the course of work such as contractors, engineers, property owners, other staff members, and the public. Ability to maneuver heavy plan documents and plat books.|
|Associate's degree in engineering technology, design technology, or other related field plus two years specialized experience reviewing plans to determine compliance with zoning or land development codes for residential and commercial buildings, traffic and streets, or other closely related training and experience.
