|VENUES MAINTENANCE MANAGER|

|Performs responsible managerial, technical and administrative work supervising maintenance operations of several large buildings and grounds used for exhibits, entertainment and sporting events. Primary duties include developing and implementing maintenance and preventive maintenance programs for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and structural care and repair; requisitioning equipment, tools, materials and supplies; and overseeing the work performed by outside contractors and subordinate employees. Work is performed under general supervision of the Venues Operations Division Manager. Performance is reviewed through conferences, condition of facilities and reports submitted.|
|Schedule and supervise event maintenance staff for all Orlando Venues facilities to support clients vendors and the general public.
Conduct, supervise, and schedule the maintenance and preventative maintenance of all electrical systems, heating and air conditioning, roofing systems, domestic water and sanitary plumbing systems.
Direct the repair and/or maintenance of ice machines, emergency power generators, drinking fountains, refrigerators and other specialized equipment.
Makes recommendations for structural repairs.
Design and/or construct changes to facilities as needed to accommodate events; may assist with set-up operations.
Represent Director at various meetings regarding planning and development of facilities; monitor construction, and major repairs and keep management informed of progress problems and related matters.
Consult with engineers, architects, contractors, and division managers to formulate and design specifications for construction, capital improvement projects, and repairs.
Process payment of invoices from contractors and suppliers after assuring the products have been received and project completion percentages have been achieved.
Participate in the development and administration of budget for maintenance operations.
Supervise and schedule contractors for Painting, Fountain maintenance and repairs, roof repairs, irrigation and cleaning of building exteriors.
Maintains a complete inventory of equipment. Authorizes the procurement of tools, materials, and supplies as needed.
Perform routine inspections of facilities, and equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA, County and related regulations.
Provide training to employees regarding proper work methods, new techniques, and safety precautions.
Create work request and oversee and direct other city maintenance staff and facility workers.
Prepare and submit reports regarding maintenance operations.
Perform other duties as needed to facilitate the accomplishment of goals and objectives.
|Knowledge of the methods and practices involved in installation, preventive maintenance and repairing a variety of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems and various equipment.
Knowledge of advanced mechanical principles as they apply to heating, cooling, ventilating systems, and advanced principles of electricity.
Knowledge of current codes, interpretation of blueprints and drawings.
Knowledge of OSHA and MSDS guidelines.
Knowledge of City Building Code including Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical codes and applicable rules and regulations.
Skilled in the operation of pick-up trucks, fork-lifts, high reach and related equipment.
Skill in performing electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work.
Skilled in the use of standard testing devices to detect possible defects in plumbing, electrical and/or mechanical systems and recommend remedial measures.
Ability to read building plans and specifications and ensure proper implementation.
Ability to establish and maintain harmonious work relationships.
Ability to work within stringent deadlines and budget constraints.
Ability to plan, supervise, and review work of subordinates.
Ability to effectively communicate the requirements of the various codes, both orally and in writing.
Ability to prepare written reports and maintain accurate records.
Ability to perform inspections of facilities and systems.
|Bachelor degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Building Science or Civil Engineering or related field plus three (3) years experience in building construction and maintenance operations for a large public assembly facility; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must have at least three (3) years of supervisory experience in a related field. Required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
Certification in plumbing, welding, carpentry or air conditioning. Valid Florida Driver License is required.
