|Performs administrative and supervisory work in the area of Vehicle Parts, with primary responsibility for supervising Vehicle Parts/Warehouse operations and inventory control functions for City's Fleet Vehicle Parts Room. Work involves overall responsibility for the receipt, storing, and issuance of a variety of heavy and light vehicle parts and equipment; the development and maintenance of inventory control systems. Work is performed under the general direction of the Fleet Manager with considerable independence and performance is reviewed through frequent inspections, discussions and analysis of reports submitted.|
|Supervises and administers duties in the operations of the City's vehicle parts warehouse, to include the purchase of parts, delivery/receiving, inventory control and issuance of parts.
Review and monitor purchase requests, procurement card transactions, invoices, and annual contract purchases.
Preparation of product and service specifications, as needed.
Develops and operates a computerized inventory control system as well as a database to improve level of service and provide for effective controls. Supervises and participates in initial, special and annual inventories.
Establish and monitor policies and procedures for vehicle parts room.
Maintains a warehouse for heavy duty, light duty and specialty vehicles and equipment.
Maintains perpetual inventory control files, reconciles fuel tank monthly inventory and coordinates with management to establish proper stock levels and reordering points.
Plans, assigns, trains, supervises and reviews work of subordinates engaged in receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing supplies and materials for fleet vehicles.

Thorough knowledge of warehousing methods, principles and practices, inventory maintenance and control, and office procedures.
Thorough knowledge of parts, materials, supplies used in the City's vehicles.
Considerable knowledge of transportation agencies and shipping methods.
Thorough knowledge of department regulations and procedures affecting special materials and goods, and of proper purchasing and requisitioning procedures.
Skilled in the operation of cars, trucks and forklifts.
Position may involve the ability to store, issue and take inventory which involves bending, stooping, reaching and lifting items up to 40 lbs.
Ability to develop participation and interest in public auction sales through public relations and media advertising.
Ability to establish and maintain accurate record keeping systems and purchasing and requisitioning procedures.
Ability to plan, assigns, supervise and evaluate the work of subordinates.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
|Associate Degree and two (2) years administrative/supervisory experience in warehousing, property control, materials management; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid Florida Drivers License required.|
