|Performs professional public relations work within the and Downtown Development Board (DDB) and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). An employee assigned to this classification is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and promotional programs to support the retention, expansion, and relocation of businesses within the DDB/CRA districts through variety of methods and social media. Work is performed under the direction of the Executive Director of DDB/CRA and is reviewed through meetings, reports submitted, and evaluations of results obtained.|
|Develops innovative programs and implementation strategies to promote and support the retention, expansion, and relocation of businesses and social activity within the Downtown/CRA districts.
Creates and manages internal/external marketing and public relations programs for awareness of Downtown and the DDB/CRA.
Develops and administers a comprehensive strategic marketing plan for Downtown.
Manages multiple public and private marketing initiatives.
Interacts with a wide range of organizations and constituents to educate and build awareness of the mission and priorities of the City Downtown Development Board and Community Redevelopment Agency in regards to the Downtown and CRA districts.
Attends meetings of various professional organizations and represent the City of Orlando at functions, trade shows and related public events to promote the Downtown/CRA Districts.
Interfaces with other sections within the EDV department, other departments and outside agencies to increase effectiveness and keep others informed of downtown developments.
Coordinate and oversees various marketing and public relations activities.
Coordinates and manages various Downtown initiatives and programs.
Duties require the exercise of considerable initiative and independent judgment.

Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relating to the management of public assemblies.
Knowledge of the community.
Knowledge of the City's mission, goals and business model.
Knowledge of the role of Downtown and City's goals for Downtown/CRA Districts.
Knowledge of City's policies and procedures.
Knowledge of contracts agreements.
Knowledge of latest marketing trends and social media management capabilities

|Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Public Administration or related field plus two (2) years of experience in performing professional work in marketing and promotion or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.|
