NATURE OF WORK:
Performs mechanical work in the installation, maintenance and repair of wastewater lift station and treatment equipment and machinery. Determines nature of malfunctions and suggests how to repair it, or if equipment should be returned to the shop for a major overhaul. Decides when the shafts need lubricating, additional oil for the engine is needed, plugs, points, etc. May be required to work in confined spaces.
WORK SCHEDULE/LOCATION: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Conserv II Facility, 5420 L.B. McLeod Road, Orlando. Schedule of work and location subject to change.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
ALL LEVELS: Must own a standard set of mechanic tools. Florida driver license required. Must be able reliably to be contacted in case of an emergency work situation. Must pass annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face piece.
MECHANIC I: High school graduate plus one year mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have a minimum of 2,025 hours OJT.
MECHANIC II: High school graduate plus two years of mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have a minimum of 2,025 hours OJT.
MECHANIC III: High school graduate plus three years of mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have a minimum of 4,050 hours OJT.
MECHANIC IV: High school graduate plus four years of mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have a minimum of 6,075 hours OJT.
DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. |
