Event Parking Specialist - SEASONAL

THESE ARE SEASONAL POSITIONS WITH NO GUARANTEE OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS.

Starting Salary: $10.00 to 12.00 per hour, depending on experience
Grade: SEAS
NATURE OF WORK:

Prepare parking lots and garages for event operations. Direct traffic entering and leaving parking facilities. Provides direct customer service including verbal or written directions to venues and facilities. Report to management and other authorities on status of lots and garages, usage rates, safety hazards, unresolved customer problems, law enforcement or traffic control issues, and other related information., direct customers providing information as necessary and appropriate. May be required to remove debris or obstructions from immediate work area. Act as Parking Attendant/Lead Cashier/Flagger, with all associated duties (set up signs and devices, receive/verify start bank, provide change, scan/collect permits, conduct check and credit transactions and validations, count/reconcile bank, prepare reports/deposits, etc.. direct traffic). Majority is outdoor work and involves exposure to all weather conditions, traffic fumes, etc.

WORK HOURS vary and depend on venue event schedules and projected attendance. Many events occur in the evening (usually 4 to 10 p.m.). Busy season is October through June.

WORK LOCATIONS include parking garages and facilities in downtown Orlando.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school graduate or equivalent and six months cash handling and customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods, run when necessary, often under hot and humid condition and in inclement weather. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds. Requires ability to work a fast-paced environment for four hours without breaks. Requires sharp attention to detail. Florida driver license required. Must pass a criminal background check and polygraph examination.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in parking industry. Experience with computerized revenue control systems; cash, ticket, and permit handling and control. Knowledge of parking and traffic control procedures around events serving up to 20,000 patrons. Good arithmetic reasoning skills. Parking Enforcement Specialist Certification.

VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
