|NATURE OF WORK:
Performs skilled, journey-level work in the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of air conditioning equipment. Conducts regular inspections of air conditioning units, makes operating adjustments, lubricates units, and changes filters. Inspects malfunctioning units, tests equipment, diagnoses of problems, repairs or replaces parts, and replaces refrigerant. Employee works under general supervision, usually alone, and exercises reasonable initiative and independent judgment in scheduling work and in determining action to be taken. Work is reviewed through inspection of work completed, reports from users of equipment, study of work reports and analysis of operating and maintenance costs.
A/C / REFRIGERATION MECHANIC I: High school graduate plus two years experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating and air conditioning systems; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Florida driver license required.
A/C / REFRIGERATION MECHANIC II: Same as A/C / Refrigeration Mechanic I, above, except requires four years experience as specified.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PROVIDED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT.
