Parks Service Specialist

Minimum Starting Salary: $14.16 per hour
NATURE OF WORK:
Performs responsible public contact work involving the scheduling of park activities and the enforcement of park rules and regulations to ensure the City Parks (especially Orlando's iconic Lake Eola Park) are clean, safe and create an overall memorable experience for park visitors. An incumbent assigned to this classification; inspects the park on a routine basis for cleanliness, safety hazards, maintenance issues and adherence to park rules, provides routine information to park visitors and tourists, prepares daily report on park conditions, park attendance, evidence of damage or accidents, and follow up on repairs, prepares and submits accident and trespass reports. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Lake Eola Park Manager. Performance is reviewed through evaluation of inspection reports, condition of the park, direct observation and results obtained. Work is performed primarily outdoors and employee may be subject to extreme weather conditions and insects. Work also involves; nearly constant walking and patrolling of City Parks.
High school graduate plus two years of experience in public contact work, preferably involving security, enforcement or customer service duties; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Required to work rotating hours and have varying days off. Valid Florida Drivers License required. Must pass police background investigation that includes polygraph examination.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
