Parks Service Specialist
Minimum Starting Salary: $14.16 per hour
NATURE OF WORK:
Performs responsible public contact work involving the scheduling of park activities and the enforcement of park rules and regulations to ensure the City parks (especially Orlando's iconic Lake Eola Park) are clean, safe, and create an overall memorable experience for visitors. Duties: inspect the park on a routine basis for cleanliness, safety hazards, maintenance issues, and adherence to park rules; provide routine information to park visitors and tourists; prepare daily reports on park conditions, attendance, evidence of damage or accidents, and status of repairs; and prepare and submit accident and trespass reports. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Lake Eola Park Manager. Performance is reviewed through evaluation of inspection reports, condition of the park, direct observation and results obtained. Work is performed primarily outdoors and employee may be subject to extreme weather conditions and insects. Work also involves nearly constant walking and patrolling of City parks.
High school graduate plus two years experience in public-contact work, preferably involving security, enforcement, and customer-service duties; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Required to work rotating hours and have varying days off. Florida driver license required. Must pass criminal background check and polygraph examination.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
