Minimum Starting Salary: $14.40 per hour
NATURE OF WORK:
Performs responsible administrative and secretarial support for the Downtown Development Board, the Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board, and the Appearance Review Board. Responsible for attending meetings, preparing notices and other documents, assembling board packets, recording and typing minutes, maintaining records, tracking calendar to ensure documents are filed and processed on time and in accordance with legal requirements, and providing information on policies and procedures to staff and citizens. Work is performed under general supervision of the Administrative Specialist and is reviewed while in progress and by review of results.
Associate degree in business administration or secretarial technical training and two years of responsible secretarial work including the taking of minutes; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with community development or constituent boards desired. Must type 55 CWPM and pass Writing Skills Test. May be asked to demonstrate transcription skills (i.e., the taking of minutes). Florida driver license required.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
MUST TAKE TYPING TEST PRIOR TO CLOSING DATE (UNLESS CURRENT SCORE ALREADY ON FILE). TYPING TESTS ARE GIVEN DAILY FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 4:15 P.M. AT CITY HALL, PERSONNEL, FIRST FLOOR, 400 SOUTH ORANGE AVENUE, DOWNTOWN ORLANDO. IF TEST NOT TAKEN BY CLOSING DATE, APPLICATION WILL BE SCREENED AS NOT QUALIFIED.
