|CIP ASSISTANT DIVISION MGR|
|Performs administrative professional work assisting the Capital Improvement and Infrastructure Division Manager in the development and implementation of operational policies and program objectives for the Capital Improvement and Infrastructure Division. Work includes managerial tasks and involves supervision, coordination and direction of those subordinate supervisory personnel responsible for the construction of Capital Improvements.|
|Coordinates and supervises construction managers by assigning work, reviewing work, periodic site inspections, and review of related tasks. Participates in the selection, training, evolution and/or discipline of employees. Periodically reviews construction projects to ensure contractor's work comply with the approved plan specifications. Reviews and recommends approval of contractor's request for payment. Supervises the schedules, conducts and documents inspections of projects with contractor. Supervises construction managers in on-going management of Capital Improvement projects. Performs other duties as needed to facilitate the accomplishment of departmental goals and objectives.|
|Knowledge of current Civil Engineering/Construction management concepts and practices.
Knowledge of personal computer spreadsheet and worked processing software.
Knowledge of Construction Contract administration.
Skilled in the operation of personal computers including the use of Microsoft Project Scheduling Program.
Ability to thoroughly inspect construction sites, which may involve working in excessive noise, standing and walking for extended periods, bending, stooping, and working at heights or in confined areas.
Ability to supervise others, which may involve reading, editing, speaking, and hearing.
|Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction management. A minimum of five (5) years experience in the area of Utility Construction and Construction/Project Management. A General Contractors License or Professional Engineer License is required. A Valid Florida Driver's License is required.
